Board of Education, Principal Dr. David Mackzum, PCMS chess coaches, and award winning players

At the May 13th regular meeting, the Princeton Board of Education honored members of the 2024 Princeton Community Middle School Chess Team.

Princeton Elementary, Middle and High School Students competed Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the year-end Scholastic Chess Tournament held at Lakota East High School. Medals were given for individual results at the tournament and trophies awarded for performance at all the tournaments this school year.

In the K-8 U800 section - Nikolai Barenz placed 10th in the state with 4 wins out of 5 possible.  

Salomon Roblero Perez placed 11th with 3.5 wins out of 5.  Their combined score placed them 4th in the state for teams scores for Middle School Students. 

Michael Diego Chaj placed 7th in the k-6 unrated section.

Emaco Brown-Ivenso, Springdale Elementary School 5th grade student, has competed with the Middle School Chess Team for two years.  At the Scholastic Chess Tournament at Lakota East, Emaco placed 2nd in the state in the K-5 Non-Rated Section.
 
Of the 177 total student competing, 20 students were from Princeton.  Princeton had the largest number of students competing.
