Princeton City School District is proud of our Eagle Scouts. Five scouts were recognized at the December Board of Education meeting.
Eagle Scout is the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.
Jordan Franklin (12th grade) - Scarlet Oaks
Jordan’s project was the construction of a donation box for worn, used, tattered U.S. flags. When completed, it was placed at the Sharonville recreation center for public use. He also conducted a U.S. flag retirement ceremony with the association of the Knights of Columbus. The overall project was completed on September 29th, 2022.
Ian Ewing Jackson (12th grade) - Scarlet Oaks
Ian is a senior at Scarlet Oaks studying residential and commercial electricity. After High School, he plans to enlist in the Navy.
Ian Ewing-Jackson, in conjunction with the City of Springdale’s 2022 Bike & Pedestrian Connectivity Plan, raised funds, purchased, and installed an outdoor commercial-grade bicycle tire pump at the Springdale Community park entrance.
The bike pump will serve the community and connect all those who wish to visit the City of Springdale, the Parke system, and the Community Center.
Ian raised $1,200 washing cars and mulching flower beds this past summer to make this project possible.
Nathan Young (10th grade) - Troop 598
Nathan Young’s Eagle project was installing a Gaga ball pit at Heritage Hill. He completed the project in April 2022 and earned the Eagle rank on August 4, 2022. Gaga Ball was invented in Israel in the mid-20th century and has spread across the world as a popular game at many summer camps.
Declan McGrath (10th grade) - Troop 598
Declan was recognized in January 2022 but was unable to attend the Board Meeting, so he was featured on Viking Voices: The People of Princeton. Declan built baseball dugouts for the Village of Evendale.
Steven Higgins (12th grade)
Gaga Ball pit at Springdale Elementary. Mr. Burton was there for the dedication. Steven completed his Eagle Scout Project by fundraising in excess of $1,525 and constructing a Gaga Ball Pit at Springdale Elementary. Springdale is one of the first schools in the Cincinnati area to have a Gaga ball pit.
