My name is Hao Cong, and I am the president of the AACO (Asian American Coalition Ohio) Cincinnati Chapter. I would like to thank one of your employees, Hannah Feng, for organizing the Chinese Lunar year celebration event at the Madeira Library.
This event attracted people not only from the Madeira area but also from Cincinnati and Mason. Hannah Feng and her son Alex worked with Madeira library to plan and set up the event. With all the volunteers from AACO, they made Chinese lanterns and taught the kids to use play dough to make dumplings, potstickers, steam buns, and even sushi. They also showed the kids how to make paper-cutting wall art, and bookmarks, then wrote their English names in Chinese characters.
In addition, they put together a beautiful exhibit with the Chinese Zodiac, explaining the animals associated with each year, and items used during the Chinese lunar year celebration.
This event was educational and fun. I would like to thank Ms. Feng, who has put so much effort into making this event successful, and really look forward to hosting the event again next year!
