Student-athletes from across Ohio had the opportunity to learn from an extraordinary lineup of speakers at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Student Leadership Conference. The event brought together accomplished sports, business, and entertainment professionals to help students develop strong character and leadership skills.
"This conference is about more than just athletics – it's about building tomorrow's leaders," says Doug Ute, OHSAA Executive Director. "We're providing students with the tools they need to create positive change in their schools and communities."
The distinguished speaker lineup included:
Former NFL player Shawn Harper, who transformed his professional football experience into a successful business career
Hoan Do, an international speaker, author, and American Ninja Warrior competitor
Former Ohio State basketball player and state high jump champion Otis Winston, who is currently thriving in Hollywood as an actor, writer, and producer.
Tom Burton, former superintendent of Princeton City Schools, bringing decades of educational consulting expertise
World champion powerlifter turned professional speaker Rick Metzger
Conference coordinator Harvey Alston, renowned for his "high octane" presentations and CEO of Best, Inc.
The conference focused on creating transformational culture within schools, emphasizing character development, leadership skills, and personal growth. Through interactive sessions and motivational talks, students gained practical strategies to become more effective school and community leaders.
