Gary Tameris receiving his award.

RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE IN COACHING

Gary Tameris has been a vital part of the water polo and swimming communities in Southwest Ohio for over 40 years, leading Sycamore girls water polo to a state title in 1987, Milford boys water polo to state titles in 2006 and 2008, and Princeton boys water polo to runner-up in the state in 2021;

and

WHEREAS, Gary Tameris has coached numerous All-American and all-state water polo players and district and state swimming qualifiers along with all-state and All-American swimmers;

and

WHEREAS, Gary Tameris demonstrated love and commitment to both sports by being the first one in to set-up for a game or meet and the last one out as he finished the evening entering his beloved stats in the computer, and in his spare time began the in-house Princeton spring water polo season and would referee the Princeton alumni water polo game on occasion;

and

WHEREAS, Gary Tameris kept his athletes in check by assigning push-ups or swimming widths when they were out of line, but was also quite the prankster, often hiding behind Door 33 and jumping out to scare athletes;

and

WHEREAS, Coach T will be forever missed for all of his contributions to the aquatics community, especially to Princeton High School, where he will leave a huge hole when he retires.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, KEVIN HARDMAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SHARONVILLE, congratulate Gary on numerous years of outstanding coaching excellence and proclaim Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 as:
