The Life Science unit in Mr. Patt’s 5th grade Science class included some lessons this week in which the students learned about worms. We observed how they moved around, and where they eventually settled on our plates. Next, we tested to see if the worms preferred dry or damp locations. We found that the majority of the worms preferred a damp environment. Finally, we examined some other questions that we could possibly answer if we had a chance to explore further. In addition, we have been watching mold grow on some plates of food and tracking when the mold appears, how much there is, and how quickly it grows. What an amazing week in Science class!
