essay

Congratulations go to our amazing D.A.R.E essay and Memorial Day Essay winners. All 5th grade students are required to write an essay in order to graduate from the DARE program.  The essays are written in Mrs. McCrory’s Writing class and read by Officer Hayes.  After careful consideration, Officer Hayes chose the essays that reflect the meaning of DARE and show student growth and learning.  The following students are this year’s DARE essay winners: Sumer Washington, Amina Rasulova, Karla Castellano Perez, Alaira Mosley, Aubri Winbush, Charlie Coulson, JoJo Verstrat, Charlise Isham, Grant Logsdon, Barno Jalolitdinova, Kimroop Giri, Kaliyah Everson, Sitlaly Casteneda, and Keri McBride.

Every year the Sharonville City Council holds a Memorial Day essay writing contest. The winners are invited to read their essays at a council meeting and the Patriot Pointe Memorial Day celebration.  They are also given a cash award.  The students are prompted to write about the importance of Memorial Day.  All students learned about Memorial Day and completed an essay.  The following students’ essays were selected to represent Sharonville Elementary:  A’ziyah Edwards, Kimroop Giri, and Tash Bere.  Congratulations to all of our great writers!!
