Many staff in the district are participating in a book study on creating thinking classrooms in mathematics.

Mrs. Shelton had her 2nd graders try out a new method from the book with randomized partners, working on vertical, non-permanent dry erase surfaces.

In this lesson, students worked on skip counting forward and backward by 5s, 10s, and 100s. Students loved working with a random partner, had great discussion, and everyone participated. It was a great way to practice the Leader in Me Habit of the month, synergize!
