Students from Ross Tinney's Art room at Evendale and Woodlawn with their new donated books!

In a generous act of cultural exchange, Easton Wang, President of the Chinese American Association of Cincinnati, recently donated a collection of bilingual Chinese-English books to Princeton School District. The books were received by Carol Carver, a retired Princeton Art teacher, who distributed them to Art Teachers across PCSD elementary schools including Evendale, Sharonville, Stewart, Lincoln Heights, and Woodlawn.

The donated books cover a variety of topics including animals, colors, numbers, and folk tales, all presented in both Chinese and English. These resources will be sent home with first grade students, providing them with an opportunity to explore Chinese language and culture.

This donation aligns perfectly with the district's existing art curriculum, as many Princeton Art Teachers already develop lessons connected to Chinese culture, particularly around Chinese New Year celebrations. The bilingual books will enhance these educational efforts while fostering cultural appreciation among young students.

Students in several art classrooms, including those taught by Paige Holliday at Sharonville and Ross Tinney at Evendale and Woodlawn, have already begun creating artwork inspired by Chinese culture and are excited about their new books.
