100 Days of Learning!
On January 27th, first graders celebrated the 100th day of school! They did several activities, including creating a 100th day snack!
Miss Sucher read the book "Iggy Peck Architect" to first grade students along with her STEM lesson. Students used toothpicks and fruit snacks to create 2D and 3D shapes!
We Love the Book Fair!
Sharonville students love the book fair! Shout-out to our exceptional librarian, Mrs. Anguiano, and all the wonderful volunteers who put this experience together! Thanks to an anonymous donor, EVERY student got to pick a FREE book!
3rd graders worked together to practice using context clues and drawing conclusions to solve the mystery of stolen emeralds! Each paragraph gave a clue that eliminated one fairy tale suspect.
Lunch with Mr. Lawson!
Congratulations to Logan, Tristan, Charlee, Emily, Madison, Maximus, Aron, Henry, and Benji for being invited to Mr. Lawson's Teacher Lunch for their iReady path completion and positive behavior in the month of January! They were awarded with a pizza party lunch in celebration of their hard work!
Student-Led Conferences
3rd graders at Sharonville are working hard to prepare for their student-led conferences. They have examined their academic and behavior data and are ready to share with their families!
Think Win-Win!
Congratulations to the Leaders of the Month for January! These students are being recognized for displaying Habit 4: Think Win-Win. This habit teaches us that everyone can win, and to consider other people's wins as well as your own.
Fraction Fun!
4th grade students have been using manipulatives and concrete models to better understand fractions. Building and decomposing equivalent fractions helps students to conceptualize the content and increases their critical thinking skills.
Teacher Time!
As spring testing season is quickly approaching, some students are proactively taking their education into their own hands. Mrs. Gilbert is offering bonus packets for students to take home for extra practice in math. Students who have completed their normal classwork, homework, and their bonus packet are invited to “Teacher Time”, which will typically be on Fridays. During this time, they use teacher markers and answer keys to grade their and others’ packets. This is an engaging learning experience for the students. We hope you will encourage your child to join in!
Shout-Out to Mr. Day!

Lots of Fun at Sharonville Literacy Wonderland
Sharonville Literacy Wonderland was a huge success! Families enjoyed listening to a first grade concert led by Dr. Jackson and Miss Marci. Then they were able to choose to visit storytimes led by Mrs. Anguiano and Mr. Ohr, or visit literacy stations with fun activities! Stations included building a snow hill, solving winter riddles, playing literacy games, building snowflakes with marshmallows, putting together synonym and antonym puzzles, and making paper snowflakes!

What is the Text Structure?
Mrs. McCrory’s reading class has been learning about different types of text structures used in informational writing. They ended the unit by creating posters. Each poster included examples of the text structures, graphic organizers, and key words used to identify the various structures. Students worked with partners to examine texts and identify the text structure. They added graphic organizers and key words to complete the posters.
5th Grade Goal-Getters
There are so many positive things happening this year in 5th grade that our students are making a slide show to celebrate their accomplishments! Students are putting together slide shows of their achievements, academic goals, leadership roles, and iReady path and testing data. The slides will be presented to their parents and at our spring conferences. Student-led conferences are a great way for our students to take ownership of their learning and involve their families in the learning. We look forward to their presentations on February 9th and 23rd!
Shout-Out to Mrs. Holden!
