Save Sam!
Second graders did a back-to-school cooperative learning activity called “Saving Sam”. The students worked together to save Sam (a gummy worm) from drowning. He dislodged his life preserver (a gummy Life Saver) and fell out of his boat. Oh no! They worked in pairs to get Sam back in his life preserver and back on his boat - WITHOUT USING THEIR HANDS! The students loved saving Sam!
Team Building
3rd grade students participated in team building activities on the first day of reading classes. These students had 20 minutes to work together to build the longest paper chain they could with just one pair of scissors, one roll of tape, and one piece of construction paper. They did a great job sharing ideas and executing their vision.
What Would You Build? Students in Miss Chastain's 3rd grade class got creative using STEAM bins! What would you build?

Fourth graders at Sharonville are learning how to demonstrate the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Recently, students created their own posters to demonstrate what leadership is all about.
Thank you to the Jones family for donating extra school supplies for the 4th grade.
A big thank you to all of the families that joined us on our Back to School Night! We had one of the largest turnouts ever. We really appreciate everyone coming out and learning a little bit about our 5th grade year. It is going to be the BEST YEAR EVER! Be sure to sign up for Class Dojo and stay connected with all of the fifth grade happenings!
Big shout out to our fifth graders who got to know their second grade buddies on Friday, August 19th. Some of the fifth graders read with their new buddies or worked on greetings. Our fifth graders will work with the second graders throughout the year. We look forward to future activities with our new friends in second grade!
Have you ever experienced sewer maggots? Mr. Patt's 5th-grade science class began science studies with a demonstration on determining good science work versus someone who is trying to deceive you. They used their observation skills to describe what they were seeing, but the students were only given some details. Their imaginations took over from there. There was a lot of discussion about what students were seeing. The best part of the lesson was some students who were willing to taste the sewer maggots. If you haven’t heard about sewer maggots, make sure to ask about them!
Cinderella tickets are on sale!
