Shout-Out to Mr. Patt!
We Hope to See Kwame Alexander at Sharonville!
Thank you to the Appiah family and our librarian, Mrs. Anguiano, for creating a video about Kwame Alexander's book "The Door of No Return." Kwame Alexander is running a contest where he will pick a random winner who created a video about his new book to receive a school visit and signed books! We hope he picks Sharonville Elementary!
Thank You Cincy Book Bus and Keepsakes Cross Stitch!
The Cincy Book Bus, along with Keepsakes Cross Stitch, will be donating $20,000 worth of books to all the Princeton elementary schools! They made the first drop off at Sharonville Elementary. Thank you for supporting literacy and the Princeton libraries!
Positive Happening!
Students in Ms. Waller and Mrs. Holden's class learned how feelings manifest in their bodies during a social-emotional lesson. This helps students to be aware of their emotions. Students worked in teams to match different body "symptoms" with common emotions they may experience during the school day.
Peace, Love, and School Lunch
It’s National School Lunch Week! We are participating with the national theme of Peace, Love & School Lunch! We appreciate the cafeteria staff at Sharonville Elementary so much!
Coding and Robotics!
Fourth graders from Mrs. Marschall’s advanced math class joined students from around the district on October 7th to explore coding and robotics. They learned about programming and logic by working with Sphero robots, Scratch, and Microbits!
Fundraiser Popsicle Party
Miss Chastain's class earned a popsicle party for having the most popcorn sales in the intermediate grades for the fall fundraiser!

Writing About Reading
Students in Ms. Bailey's intervention class are learning to write a summary of stories they read using "Somebody Wanted But So Then." This strategy gives them an easy outline or framework to use when identifying key story elements and can be used in many ways. They have found this to be an easy way to effectively get their thoughts down in writing.
I Can Write My Name!
Students in Mrs. Woodard’s kindergarten EL group work hard practicing their name! They are also working hard at answering questions! Ask a kindergartner their name, and they will be able to answer in a complete sentence!
Parachute in PE!
Kindergarten and 1st grade got to experience the Parachute in PE for the first time! An all-time favorite that incorporates movement, cooperation, communication, and FUN!
Shout-out to Mrs. Addison!
Thank you from Kindergarten!
Thank you to Ms. Asbrock, Ms. Sanchez, Ms. Paul, and Ms. Anderson for pulling full-day kindergarten students in the morning and practicing numbers and letters! We appreciate this extra help for our students and it has been paying off!
Kindergarten Learning Labs
All three kindergarten classes are mastering the rules and routine of Learning Lab time. Lab time is where students are learning through play, and they have the opportunity to practice reading, math, STEM, technology, and dramatic play!
Kinder Writers!
Almost all students are now writing their name independently! We have been targeting name writing and all students are at least able to copy their name from their name tag, and most students can write it independently!
