Dear Princeton Families,
We understand that yesterday's social media post may have caused concern. While we took the situation seriously and maintained increased vigilance throughout the day, we're pleased to report that our schools remained safe and operated normally. We appreciate everyone's patience and cooperation.
Unfortunately, Princeton City School officials are aware of a second social media threat with the same tone as last evening. The post includes threats of violence against a list of local Cincinnati area schools, including Princeton.
Princeton schools will be open and operating on their regular schedules tomorrow. We want to reassure our community that school activities will proceed as usual. Out of an abundance of caution, Princeton City Schools will have an increased police presence on our campuses tomorrow, Friday, September 6, 2024. We want you to know that some of our security and local detectives are in unmarked clothing and car units.
Local law officials, including the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and FBI Intel units, are continuing to investigate these hoax threats. If there are any new findings or heightened concerns from law enforcement, we will keep you informed of any changes.
We're proud of our district's commitment to safety. Our Viking community has always embraced the principle of "if you see something, say something" when it comes to potential safety concerns. This situation has once again demonstrated the strength of that commitment.
Our response to the social media threat and any future threats is to continue to follow the Safety Procedures and Protocols that we have in place. We continue to maintain our relationships with our local law enforcement, provide professional development and training, and stay alert to necessary trends and changes.
Safety is a concern every day. We will continue to take all threats against our schools seriously. We sincerely appreciate the support we have received from our local law enforcement agencies and the cooperation of our teachers, staff, students, and parents in keeping our buildings safe.
We are truly grateful for all the messages received today from concerned community members. Your vigilance and care for our students' well-being are deeply appreciated.
