Congratulations to our March VIKING VIP's. These students are experts at Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw!
Kindergarten: Ky’Relle & Elizah
Ky'Relle loves to be a great leader by example. He loves to participate in BrainBreaks & join in fun activities with friends. He also likes to find things to do when he gets bored. Great way to "sharpen the saw" Ky'Relle!
Elizah consistently demonstrates "Sharpen the Saw" with the ability to take care of his mind, body, and heart. His kindness towards peers and ability to work well with others make him a great role model in the classroom. It is wonderful to see how he positively influences his classmates. Continue to be the best version of you Elizah!
1st Grade: Kurrie & Caelynn
Kurrie demonstrates Habit 7, Sharpen the Saw, by being a friend to everyone in the classroom. He enjoys playing with classmates at recess and is a supportive and kind peer. Kurrie also values family time and enjoys completing projects with his grandmother and father. Kurrie often introduces new ideas to the class from his adventures with his family.
I chose Caelynn as our Viking VIP because she has spent this school year continuing to sharpen her saw. Caelynn is so dedicated to doing her best every single day. She continues to learn and grow everyday, never giving up and always trying her very best. I am so proud of how hard she works and how far she has come. Keep up the amazing work!
2nd Grade: J’Mari & Keziyah
J'Mari does a great job of Sharpening the Saw! He expresses to me that he enjoys relaxing, fueling his body, reading books, spending time with people he loves and staying active outside of school! He likes to use learning new skills and reading to relax his mind. I am proud of the care he puts in and seeing that reflect at school. Great job!
Keziyah sharpens her saw by making sure she takes interest in things outside of school. She competes in beauty pageants that allow her to showcase her talents and poise. By taking time to do the things that she enjoys beyond work, she keeps her mind, body, and spirit healthy.
3rd Grade: Ava & Kaison
Ava is an easy choice for this month's VIP, Sharpen the Saw! Ava takes care of herself both in and out of school. She attends before school tutoring and after school tutoring and knows the importance of learning! She has told me that she self care at home is getting her hair done, eating healthy and relaxing. Because of how well Ava takes care of herself, she is the best version of herself day in and day out!
Kaison has begun to shine as a leader. As a new member to our LH family, it has been a joy to see Kaison work hard and learn independent skills. He takes pride in his learning and is doing great building friendships. He is taking care of himself in many ways, improving and building upon each thing he does. If he needs help he asks, and knows that practice makes perfect if we keep trying. Keep it up, Kaison!
4th Grade: Ezzy and Damari’
Ezzy is always striving to listen, work harder, and ask for help showing how he is always working to sharpen his saw. Ezzy is a positive role model for his peers and his love for school is evident in everything that he does. Keep up the great work!
Damari's ability to take time for himself is unparalleled. He is a highly focused student when he needs to be but also takes time to do what he enjoys to sharpen his saw. Damari's greatest strength is knowing when he needs to take a minute for himself. Keep growing, Damari'.
5th Grade: Da’Kya & Alaya
Da'Kya does an amazing job with sharpening her saw. She has a positive vibe and is focused on being her best self. She radiates a positive attitude all the time.
Alaya shows compassion to everyone she encounters. She takes the time to find meaningful ways to help others while also taking care of herself.
Art & Music: Yasmeena & Ja'milah
Yasmeena truly excels at taking the time to reflect on her creative process in the art room. She’s always eager to try new techniques, pushing herself to improve her skills. Her commitment to sharpening her saw is inspiring!
Singers need to stay hydrated and take care of their voices. Ja'milah makes sure to drink plenty of water and warm up her voice properly even though she does not consider herself a great singer. She also often asks questions for clarification and to dig deeper into our lessons. Whenever possible, she helps other students to learn in music class.
