We are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Stewart! Ms. Babel taught students how to create beautiful weaving, Alebrije in Hojalata (tin art), and Miro paintings. In Mrs. Kroger's reading class, students celebrated their country of origin by drawing self-portraits with their native country's flags. In Mrs. Engel's music class, students are singing and dancing to traditional Hispanic melodies.

At Stewart, Mrs. Engel uses different Hispanic music for warm-ups to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! This week was Fronteras sang by Gaby Moreno, a Guatemalan singer. Students love to play music, songs, and games to introduce a new concept. El Floron is a hit every year! https://youtu.be/aHKIY5FjJpk https://youtu.be/zxo8Vo5IuO0

In honor of 9/11 and our fallen heroes, Stewart kindergarteners discussed what it means to be a hero. Students shared what a hero is and what heroes do for us, such as helping us and keeping us safe. Students drew a picture of a hero in their lives as well as coloring different American heroes! ❤️🤍💙 #AAGV
