The week of Oct. 9-13 is National School Lunch Week, highlighting the importance of a healthy school lunch in a child’s life and the impact it has both in and out of the classroom. The National School Lunch Program started in 1946 as a way to provide nutritious meals to children from low-income families who might not otherwise have access to a daily meal. President John F. Kennedy declared National School Lunch Week in 1962, and now the school lunch program serves nearly 30 million children every school day.

The Ohio National Guard hosted an event for HS educators explaining their program and benefits for high school graduates at Lunken Airport this past weekend. There were people representing schools from around the city. This picture is the group from Princeton who attended the event. We’re on an army truck that was on display. The hi light of this event was a flight over the city and up to Kings Island and back on a Chinook Helicopter. See attached photo.
