JROTC NEWS  

COMPLETED EVENTS (January 2025):  

1. The Color Guard team presented the colors at the four boys varsity home basketball games on 3, 7, 17, and 31 January and one varsity girls home game on 29 January.

2.  The unit hosted Mr. Orlando Sonza, Executive Director of the Veterans Service COmmission of Hamilton County on Friday, 24 January.

3.  Cadet Mason Lim submitted his 3 page essay as his entry into the NJROTC Gilliam Award.  "Diplomacy in the Age of Social Media" was the subject/theme of the essay.  Winners will be announced in March 2025.

FUTURE EVENTS (February 2025):

1. The Color Guard team will present the colors at two varsity home basketball games on 4 and 7 February.

2. 42 Cadets will participate in an orientation trip to the Navy ROTC unit at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio on Friday, 7 February.

3. The Joint Leadership Academic Bowl (JLAB) team consisting of Cadets Addyson Sowders, Mason, Lim,  Kayelee Branham, and Jonathan Morris will compete in round 2 of the JLAB competition during the first week of February.  All Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force JROTC units nationwide compete in this event.  The team advanced to the second round with a first score of 80% on 14 November 2024.

4. Cadets Samuel Yeboah and Isiah Hendricks will participate in the Business Breakfast on 6 February.

5. Parent/Teacher conferences on Thursday, 13 February.

6. 25 Princeton Cadets will participate in the nation wide NJROTC National Academic Exam during the last week of February.

The U.S. Navy awarded Princeton High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) with the Unit Achievement award for the 2023-2024 school year.

The Unit Achievement award is one of the highest commendations a unit can be awarded and it’s the 6 th straight year Princeton High School Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) has been recognized for demonstrated exceptional performance. 106 cadets at Princeton High School will be recognized with the Unit

Achievement ribbon to be worn on their NJROTC uniform at the annual NJROTC awards ceremony. 

Congratulations Cadets on a job well done!

Photos from the NJROTC AREA THREE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Princeton High School NJROTC recently participated in the AREA THREE Physical Training Championship held at Central Crossing High School in Grove City, OH. 

Overall, Princeton finished in 4th place out of the 9 teams and over 140 cadets participated. Team wise, Princeton earned a third place finish in the Laser Tag team and the 4 X 4 relay event. Individually, Cadet Ziyah Walton (10th) earned first place in the 100 meter and 200  meter sprints. Cadet Hayelee Branham (8th) earned second place in the softball toss and orienteering events. Congratulations NJROTC!

AWARDS from the Leadership Academy:

The following cadets successfully completed and earned their silver chords from the 2024 Leadership Academy (LA):  Cadets Barry Anderson, Ke'shaun Carter, and Ronnie Newman.  LA was conducted from 21-28 June 2024 at the National Guard Camp Atterbury, Edinburgh, Indiana.  Only the best of the best cadets are sent from their NJROTC unit to LA.  Over 130 cadets from the Mid-West participated.  Congratulations to Cadets Anderson, Carter, and Newman!

Cadets Raul Ortiz Sagastume, Kevin Raymundo, and Nikolai Barenz came in first place in the orienteering competition.  A total of 138 cadets from 13 NJROTC high school units participate in 2024 BLT.
