DECA
DECA is a marketing club that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. DECA is a student-centered organization whose program of leadership and personal development is designed specifically for students enrolled in marketing education classes. It is a co-curricular organization and serves as an integral part of the classroom instructional program.
Princeton DECA is an award-winning club. Students have been recognized at the district, state, and national levels. In March 2022, 11 students attended the Ohio DECA Competition. Of those 11 students, six placed in the top 10 of their event. In April 2022, Princeton DECA sent its first student to the national competition in Atlanta, GA. In addition to participating in multiple competitions throughout the school year, Princeton DECA is involved in several projects throughout the school and the community. Students also regularly participate in the Business Breakfast that is hosted by Princeton High School four times a year.
In order to be a member of Princeton DECA, students have to be enrolled in one of the four Business classes. Those classes are Introduction to Business, Principles of Marketing, Principles of Finance, and Principles of Management. Students who are interested can contact DECA Advisor Rebecca McCowan or call 864-1519. Students can also speak to their guidance counselor about taking the courses. DECA meetings take place on Thursdays after school from 2:15 to 3 pm in room 1150. Students who need to can ride the activity buses home.
