Zuri, Olivia, Alayah and Ta'Nya have spent countless hours after school creating the awesome Sweetheart Dance posters and signs found throughout the hallways! They've done an excellent job going above and beyond and working collaboratively to benefit the entire student body at Heritage Hill! Teamwork makes the dream work!
Brayden is in second grade and has been diligently working on his reading skills since August! He has come so far since then, he's now caught up with the remainder of his reading class! He's put in the effort to be a reading rock star! Keep up the awesome work, Brayden!
Pedro was nominated by 2 teachers for his Viking spirit! Pedro is a huge help to Mrs. Forse during our Friendship Friday groups, helping get the kindergarten students to class and helping Mrs. Forse with tasks associated with the lesson! Pedro has a strong work ethic and exhibits the Viking qualities of being respectful and responsible. Academically, he has made great gains in achievement because he cares about his learning and works hard on his studies every day that he is here. Heritage Hill 5th grade students are putting their Internet safety knowledge into action this month! The students are creating a Black History Month Musician Canva project! Students have had a lesson from Officer Riordan on best internet safety practices, taken an online course on internet safety through Public School Works, and discussed the importance of creating strong passwords, how to identify cyber bullying and steps to take to prevent it. We look forward to our gallery walks displaying our projects at the end of February! #SafterInternetDay

On Friday, Heritage Hill had the pleasure of welcoming Superintendent Card over for a special staff luncheon- our annual Souper Bowl Chili Cook-Off! Such a fun way to kick off Super Bowl weekend! Superintendent Card taste tested 9 chilis and chose Mrs. Forse's chili as the winner of Elgin's Choice Award! 🏆 Congratulations Mrs. Forse!

It's National School Counselors Week & we couldn't let the week pass us by without giving a huge shout out to Mrs. Robinson, counselor at Heritage Hill! Mrs. Robinson does so much for our students from running grief groups, to character education, and social-emotional lessons as well as check ins with students.
