Argh 🏴‍☠️ you ready for the long weekend? The Heritage Hill staff has worked hard this first month of school and decided to have a little fun the day before the long holiday! Our first underground spirit day- tie dye- which some students seemed to have gotten word about 😉, a red cart treat from the EL team & a visit from Superintendent Card complete with Dunkin' Donuts 🍩 for winning the FIRED UP contest at convocation! Students in Mrs. Midkiff's 4th grade class at Heritage Hill are putting new reading, speaking and listening skills to work through Socratic seminars as part of the new reading curriculum, Wit & Wisdom. Students gather evidence corresponding to the question prior to gathering in the circle then express through listening and speaking what they have learned in reading and writing! #VikesLeadTheWay #AAGV

Learn a little bit about Mrs. Lastra & share in her excitement to lead our building forward into an ELITE year! My journey began in engineering before I found my true calling in education, where I could combine my love for systems thinking with my passion for equity and student success. As a native Spanish speaker and immigrant, my why is deeply personal, I want every child to feel seen, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential. I’ve been fortunate to lead both in corporate and school settings, most recently as Assistant Principal at the Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies, where I worked alongside an incredible team to strengthen programming, instruction, and school culture.
