Next Week Calendar Updates

OELPA Testing The Ohio English Language Proficiency Assessment (OELPA) is the state summative test used to determine an English learner’s progress to English proficiency and readiness to exit from the English language development program. The OELPA is aligned to Ohio’s K-12 English Language Proficiency Standards and meets the federal requirement of an annual assessment of English proficiency measuring listening, speaking, reading and writing. In the last few weeks, Princeton High School's English Learners Team completed 930 tests between the High School and Scarlet Oaks Vocational School.

Ohio Music Education Association Competition Ohio Music Education Association Competition Congratulations to the 95 Princeton High School band, orchestra and choir musicians who competed in 55 events for ratings in the OMEA District 14 High School Solo and Ensemble Competition at Anderson High School on Saturday. Our Vikings represented well earning 3 Good Ratings, 21 Excellent Ratings, and 30 Superior Ratings!

Princeton High School Celebrates Black History Month February Celebrating Black History Month Black History Month is a time to honor the contributions and legacy of African Americans across U.S. history and society—from activists and civil rights pioneers such as Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth, Marcus Garvey, Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X and Rosa Parks to leaders in industry, politics, science, culture and more. Princeton High will be sharing educational facts every day to reflect the accomplishments of these U.S.. Historical difference makers and all of those currently making history.

PHS Conferences ~ Thursday February 2 On Thursday February 2nd we will be conducting our remote Parent/Teachers Conferences. They will be from: 3pm - 7pm. Parents/Guardians can sign up for your son’s or daughter's conferences on our Districts Website under the heading PTCFAST. Parents you can locate this on the website under the school news section. For Parents & Students tab across the top "conference sign up" Teachers will Conference with you in 1 of 2 ways. Either in person or by Google Hangouts Meet. Learn more about our IB Diploma Program and AP course offerings at PHS at our Advanced Studies meeting on February 2 at 6:00 in the Library at the Middle School. Both parents and students are welcome to attend.

National Signing Day ~ GMC Princeton High School will be celebrating some of our student athletes on National Signing Day for the GMC on Wednesday, February 1, 2023. The signing will be held in the Viking Room at 3:30 pm. Come help us celebrate Zion Mason, Amare Thomas, Breeon Ishmail, Phillip Daniels, Blake Howard, RJ West, Riley Woods and DeAndre Rutherford.

Lady Vikes Senior Night Congratulations to our Senior Lady Vikes ~ Sole Williams, La'Sonja Hill, Diawna Carter - Hartley and Keara Brooks were celebrated before the game on January 30th for 2023 Senior Night. Congratulations to all these #DifferenceMakers on and off the court! Go Lady Vikes!!

DECA Students moving on Congratulations to the Princeton DECA students who competed at the District Competition at Harrison High School today. Twelve students have qualified to participate in the State Competition on March 10 & 11! Students were given situational events to solve, with 10 minutes to review and plan their 15-minute presentation. Judged on critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, creativity, innovation, and working together, our students proved that they have developed durable skills which they can apply in practical applications. Our students showcased their 21st Century skills in the career clusters, such as marketing, finance, business management, and fashion design, which they hope to pursue in the future.

Last minute Senior Portraits at PHS Prestige will be at the high school on February 7, 2023, from 8-10:00 am. The sitting fee is $30 for each senior. Attention 2023 Seniors ~ Education Scholarship SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL 2023 PHS GRADUATING SENIORS Apply for a $1,000 Scholarship if you are planning on becoming a teacher! In accordance with Sharonville Elementary, the Bowes Family is offering three $1,000 scholarships in the name of Patrick T. Bowes, a former teacher at Sharonville Elementary. Mr. Bowes fought a courageous battle with cancer, but sadly lost his fight in April, 2016 Applications will be accepted from any 2023 graduating Princeton High School Senior who plans on majoring in Education in college. The City of Springdale Scholarship Attention Class of 2023 Considering college or trade school? Springdale Offering Support provides two $1,500 scholarships annually. PHS JAZZ touring in Memphis Princeton HS Jazz Bands will travel to Memphis, Tennessee from February 15th -19th. The bands will tour Graceland, Sun Studios, Staxx Museum, Rock & Soul Museum, Beale Street, and more. Our Princeton HS Jazz bands will perform with the University of Memphis Jazz Band.
