AP Calculus
Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Mr. Tucker and I am the AP Calculus teacher at Princeton High School. You are receiving this letter because you have registered for AP Calculus for the 2022-2023 school
year. This summer we will utilize ALEKS an online program as summer work in preparation for the AP Calculus course. Each student will use their current ALEKS login credentials. Of the students that completed the Review for AP Calculus program in the past the average time (logged into the program) for completion was about 30 hours. It is in the best interest of the student to work on this throughout the summer and not waiting until the last week to try to complete the entire course. The course covers all of the major topics from Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus that are necessary for success in Calculus. One of the hardest parts about calculus is that it utilizes all of the skills that a student should have acquired from the previous 4 courses.
The course is to be completed by the first day of the school year August 12, 2022. The student will be given a completion grade equal to the percentage of ALEKS completed, which will be 10% of the first quarter grade. The students will also take a comprehensive knowledge check at the beginning of the school year that will be counted as a test grade.
Your login credentials are the same as last school year. I will open the assignment on June 24, 2022. I will send another email to all students when it is assigned.
