League of Innovative Schools

League of Innovative Schools - Leaders in Education with four photos from conferences

  • Launched in 2011, the Digital Promise League of Innovative Schools is a national network of school districts that connects and supports the most forward-thinking leaders in education.

  • By collaborating on shared priorities, League members – including superintendents and district leaders – spearhead innovative learning and leadership practices to achieve equitable outcomes for every student.

  • League members represent more than 150 districts in 38 states, and the network has served more than 4.4 million students since its founding. Their diverse experiences reflect the advancements, challenges, and vital work of public education in the United States.

  • At the same time, the League is a tight-knit community of leaders that is defined by members’ deep relationships and desire for hands-on opportunities to collaborate, connect, and learn.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Princeton City Schools was accepted into the League of Innovative Schools! At that time, Princeton was one of seven in the State of Ohio (and one of the 114 districts countrywide) that made up the League. We partner with other leading educators, entrepreneurs, and researchers across the country.

Through our membership with the League of Innovative schools, our leaders have access to unique opportunities that allow them to co-create, pilot, and scale innovative practices, apply learnings to their own districts, and identify and promote promising practices to other districts across the country.

Here are just a few of the unique benefits that League members can access and the innovative work they are helping to co-create and scale:

  • Research and Pilots: Through their membership, League districts become catalysts for change by partnering with Digital Promise on research pilots and projects to validate and scale up promising League-led innovations across the network and nationwide.

  • Engage: League members can plus up their contributions to and learnings from the League by joining Learning collaboratives, working groups, and implementation cohorts

  • Convene: The League’s bi-annual convenings accelerate members’ leadership and empower district transformation. Each convening creates a powerful cycle of learning, collaboration, and transformation for League leaders and their districts.

  • Connect: From monthly (virtual) superintendents meetings to in-person regional events, League leaders have opportunities throughout the year to connect informally, deepen relationships, and collaborate around shared problems of practice.
